Tips on choosing an apartment to stay in Spain:

Some people, more and more every year, decide to stay in apartments, as they can afford staying for longer periods of time and just enjoy the beach and all the other wonderful things that Spain has to offer. Apartments are usually owned by Spanish families. Of course the apartment rental in Spain will always be more expensive in high season, when everybody decides to travel (June, July, August and September). August is by far the most expensive month and you will definitely find more tourists when traveling during that month. It’s possible that the owners won’t speak English, although I’m sure they’re learning more and more, as it is a necessity, in order to make their business successful. You can rent and apartment for a minimum of a week, or for the whole summer if you prefer. You should also learn a little bit about your apartment before you actually go. There is such variety that you never know! Again, if you need a king-size bed, you will most likely not find it in an apartment rental. In fact, it is very rare to see a king-size bed in any house in Spain, due to smaller spaces in the homes. Spanish people don’t live in single family homes, they live in apartment buildings. Usually larger apartments than the ones you might find in the U.S., but not as spacious as a single family home!

When you stay at an apartment, of course, nobody will make the bed for you, nobody will cook for your, but your stay will be more economic and if you are traveling with a few people it will be such a fun experience! Just remember to leave the place as clean as you found it, as other people will be coming next!
